Want to Participate in the Rocky Mountain Record Crawl?
We’re inviting independent record stores across the Denver metro area to be part of the Rocky Mountain Record Crawl—a one-day, multi-stop vinyl experience connecting collectors with the best shops in the region. All 2026 ticket sales will go directly to booking transportation and marketing the event.
Participation Requirements
To join the crawl, stores must meet the following criteria:
-
Be a physical, brick-and-mortar independent record store
- A firm commitment to have your store open and welcoming crawlers from 11am-5pm minimum on the day of the event.
Each participating store agrees to provide 3 value adds to crawlers:
-
One free promotional item per attendee visiting your store
Could be a sticker, stamp, or small branded item. Crawlers will try and collect this item from each store. -
One exclusive offer available to RMRC participants. Think 10% off used, bogo deals, coupons or extra rewards points. Whatever works best for your store is ok, but something special for the event.
-
A curated used record drop (50+ records preferred) featuring items that:
-
Have never been previously placed on your sales floor
-
Are newly selected or resurfaced for the event
- These records should be clearly set aside as a special “RMRC Drop” for first-time discovery during the event.
-
Store Asks
Participation is completely free. We ask that each store tries to sell a minimum of 10 tickets to help cover transportation costs. All ticket sales will go towards transportation and marketing the event. This is especially important for stores on the outskirts of the Denver area. Going further out means more busses and busses are $$$.
- Post about the event on your stores socials a minimum of two times. Additional posts or stories until your 10 tickets have sold.
- Include event in one email blast with ticket link.
- If possible link the event ticket page on your website.
Please feel free to make this event your own and use it to highlight your store in any way that fits your space and style.
We encourage you to promote heavily in-store and online leading up to the event, and to treat the day as a chance to bring new and returning customers through your doors.
Ideas and additions are strongly encouraged, including but not limited to:
- Sidewalk sales or outdoor tables (weather permitting and where applicable)
- Live music, DJs, or in-store performances
- Special in-store events, raffles, or listening stations
- Guest appearances or collaborations with local artists or vendors
- Coffee, snacks, doughnuts, or other light refreshments
- Food trucks or pop-ups if space allows
- Themed sections, curated bins, or event-day exclusives
- Early opening, extended hours, or late-night programming
Each store can participate at their own level—there is no required format beyond being open and prepared for crawl traffic.
We’re encouraging customers to explore throughout the day—come early, stay late, and spend time in each space.
Metro Area
We will book a number of busses that travel in a loop from store to store. It's important we both include as many stores as possible while also making sure attendees don't spend the whole time on the busses. We are actively building a regional route across the Front Range, including:
-
North: Downtown Denver
-
West: Lakewood
-
South: Littleton
-
East: Colorado boulevard
What the RMRC Provides for Participating Stores
The RMRC is built to drive traffic, visibility, and sales to participating record stores. This event is designed by record stores, for record stores, with the primary goal of bringing customers directly into your space. If your store wants to participate in any way with the event promotion, routing, planning etc.. please get in touch. We have no intentions other than promoting local stores in our area.
As a participating store, you can expect:
-
Increased Foot Traffic
Coordinated bus routes and event promotion are designed to bring both new and returning customers into your store throughout the day. -
Shared Event Marketing
The RMRC will promote the event across multiple channels, highlighting participating stores and encouraging customers to visit as many locations as possible. -
Transportation Between Stores
A continuous bus loop allows customers to easily travel between locations, removing barriers and encouraging multi-store visits. -
Extended Customer Engagement
The structure of the event encourages attendees to spend more time shopping, exploring, and discovering new stores across the crawl. -
Flexible Participation
There is no required format for how you participate beyond being open and ready for traffic. Stores are encouraged to activate their space in whatever way fits their brand. -
Cross-Promotion Opportunities
Customers will be exposed to multiple stores throughout the day, creating opportunities for long-term customer growth beyond the event itself. -
A Store-First Approach
The RMRC exists to support independent record stores. All planning and execution is centered around driving business to participating locations.
Anchor Stores
Anchor stores serve as official starting points for charter bus departures at the beginning of the event.
You do not need to be an anchor store to participate. Buses run continuously on a loop and will stop at all participating stores multiple times throughout the day, with estimated arrivals every 15–30 minutes. Participants may start at any store—anchor locations simply act as initial departure points.
How to Become an Anchor Store
There are three ways to qualify:
-
Top Ticket Sales
The highest-selling store will have a bus depart from their location at the start of the event. -
Fund an Additional Bus
Sell enough tickets to cover the cost of adding a new bus. 100% of ticket sales will go toward marketing the event and expanding the fleet. The event will launch with two buses and scale up from there, with the goal of adding more routes as demand increases. -
Provide Your Own Bus
Stores may choose to rent their own bus. If you do, all ticket sales tied to your location will be allocated directly to you. This is not required, busses will go to all stores in a loop. Busses will spend an equal amount of time at every participating store.
Satellite Stores
Satellite stores would be required to fund an additional bus to participate. Satellite stores are currently defined as north of I70, east of Colorado boulevard, south or west of 470.
About the Event
The Rocky Mountain Record Crawl connects multiple independent record stores through a coordinated, one-day bus route. Each stop features exclusive selections, in-store activations, and a shared community experience designed to celebrate vinyl culture across Colorado.
